Courses

I offer regular four-week (8 hours total) adult sewing and serging courses that meet weekly in my sewing studio near Williamsford, Ontario. Classes typically run on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons or evenings, though other times are available.

The four-week course guides you through sewing a project of your choice. You bring your own pattern, fabric and notions and we work through layout and cutting, assembly, pressing, and finishing techniques. Each class has just two students, so you get personalized instruction on your chosen project, and each student can learn from the other's project as well. Students gain a strong base of skills to continue sewing clothing and other projects on their own.

8-hour course: $130 CAD + HST

Private Lessons

I also offer one-on-one tutorials. You can schedule an hour to two-hour session to receive personal instruction on sewing machine basics, serging, pattern sizing and drafting, pro tips and techniques, and more. If you have a sewing project or topic you would like a little personal guidance on, a one-on-one private lesson is the way to go!

Private Lessons: $30 per hour + HST.

Instructor

As a sewing instructor, I draw on many years' experience both as a professional seamstress in several large theatre companies' costume shops, and as a former university instructor. Courses and tutorials are fun, social, relatively casual, but always instructive! They are a great way to set aside time for your creativity and to work in a fully equipped sewing studio.

Please note that courses and private lessons, as well as the sewing studio, are set up for adult learning. The minimum age for students is 12, and students 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
