Serging Lessons

A serger is a very useful machine for many sewing projects, but with its complicated threading mechanisms, it can be a little intimidating.

Sydenham Sewing's serging lessons take the mystery out of using this fantastic machine. From threading and managing the tension and differential feed, to the many different things a serger can do, these lessons are always fun and informative.

Lessons at the Sydenham studio (near Williamsford, Ontario) have the same format as my regular sewing lessons: 8-hour courses over 4 weeks or hourly one-on-one tutorials. You can bring your own serger or use mine here at the studio. Contact details below.

Serging Workshops at GB Arts

I also teach regular serging workshops, beginner and intermediate, at the Georgian Bay School of the Arts in Owen Sound (938 2nd Ave. E.). GB Arts has a fantastic new space for its textiles classes and it has a number of sergers for workshop participants to borrow--a great way to learn about a serger if you don't yet own one.

To register, go to https://gbarts.ca/textiles/ and scroll down to the next serger workshop listing. If you need to borrow a serger, be sure to let them know in the comments section.

The next GB Arts Serger workshop(s) is/are:

Get to Know Your Serger II (intermediate level): Sunday, February 23rd at 1 PM.

Get to Know Your Serger I (beginner level): Sunday, March 16th at 1 PM.
